PET（聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯）虽然含量不多，但它是一种非常容易回收再利用的化学物质。简令奇博士说，PET的分解产物TPA（对苯二甲酸）和EG（乙二醇）是两种不同的溶剂，可以用作化工原料中间体，从而制成更多的化工原材料。PET瓶经过高温熔化后能生成一种纤维状的东西，这种纤维织成的毛茸茸的布可以做成各种时装，穿在身上又轻又暖。中国降解塑料网的塑料信息研究员唐赛珍说，PET再生树脂还能用于制造片材、非食品包装用瓶以及一些电工产品的零部件。
Although there is not much PET in plastic bottles, it is a chemical substance that can be easily recycled. As was told by Dr. Jian, when PET is decomposed, two different solvents are produced, namely, TPA (terephthalic acid) and EG (ethylene glycol ), which can be used as intermediates for more industrial chemicals. The PET bottles, when melted in high heat, can produce a fibrous material, which is then woven into a fuzzy cloth for fashionable clothes, both light and warm. And, the resin regenerated from PET can be made into sheets, bottles for non-food package as well as components of electrical products, said Tang Saizhen, a plastic information researcher of China’s Plastic Decomposition net.
