我们的祖先主要以农耕为生,靠天吃饭。他们认为上天和神灵主宰一切,因而对赐福给他们的上天和神灵以及有功于他们的人或物都深怀感恩之心。这种感恩之情反映在节日民俗中。农历的六月初六,就是一个感恩的节日。六月初六俗称“神诞节”,一般认为许多赐福人类的神灵都在这一天诞生。所以每到此日,各地都要祭祀,感谢神灵,祈求神灵永远保佑他们。
Our ancestors made their living mainly by farming. and were at the mercy of the weather.They believed that heaven and gods were in charge of everything: therefore, they were grateful to heaven and gods for the blessing they received, and were thankful to persons or even objects that brought them good fortune. Their gratitude was shown in traditional festival rituals, one of which fell on the sixth day of the 6th lunar month.
The sixth day of the 6th lunar month was usually referred to as "Gods' Birthday".because it was believed that most of the gods who blessed the public were born on that very day. When the day came, people would offer sacrifices to them, showing their gratitude and praying for everlasting blessing.
