There is no simile or metaphor in sentense(1),for the girl and her mother are both human beings,while sentence(2) is metaphoric.In similes or metaphors the tenor and the vehicle must have similartise.In sentence(2),the girl is compared to an angel.Apparently,there are some similarities between the girl and an angel,for example,beauty.
