ThecommercialbunonwhichhamburgersarenowservedwascreatedbydineroperatorWalterAndersonofWichita,Kansas,whoalsoinventedthemoderngrill(botheventsaround1916)andthenestablishedthechainofWhiteCastlehamburgerrestaurants.
