the House of Commons: The House of Commons in Britain is elected by universal adult suffrage and consists of 651 Members of Parliament (MPs). It is the house in the Parliament in which the ultimate authority for law-making resides. Its main functions include law-making, authorizing taxation and public expenditure, and examining the actions of the Government. (pp.112-115)
